Slimline card

a

Can you believe this is my first ever slimline card. I know its been a trend for a while but the JUST ADD INK challenge pushed me to give it a go. I'm so glad I did!

I've used Polished Pink, Evening Evergreen, Soft Seafoam and Granny Apple Green for this card.

The sweet strawberry stamp and punch bundle made for a pretty and very easy card to assemble.  I used Stampin Blends for the colouring and kept the embellishment simple with the punched out images.
Of course, I missed the deadline to upload this card but that's ok.  It was so much fun!
Happy stamping,

Just Add Ink #535 - Magical Creatures

I have to admit that I had to dig into my old stash of rubber to find some images and in fact, I coloured 2 images for this challenge but this one stood out and screamed to be made into a card first!

I made an easel card of sorts, popping up this huge image by Penny Black.
Of course, very fitting being the Silly Season that I chose an elf as my magical creature.
I coloured using Granny Apple Green, Real Red, Ivory, Grey Granite, Old Olive, Pool Party, Poppy Parade and Pumpkin Pie (for his hair!)
I added some twine and watermark stamped some backgrounds.  He twinkles because I couldn't resist adding the snow flurries as background in Pool Party and good old Kindy Glitz got some use on the fur.
As always, a great challenge that was lots of fun to create for.  Click on the image to go to their blog and be inspired.

I am wrapping presents today, with all Christmas Parties under our belts and finally some time to stop and relax.  Happy creating, Rachael xx

Its been busy.... Just Add Ink challenge 'S' #533

I've had a busy few days, with visitors, Christmas decorating and a workshop with 5 stampers which was great fun!

I woke up early this morning and completed the Just Add 'S' challenge for this week. I used:
Stripes, Spots, Sparkle with Simple Stampin!.

One more Christmas card to add to the pile.  Now to write on them LOL

Just Add Ink #530

This weeks challenge was just that - a challenge!  We could only use ink-paper-stamps.  Thats it.  I'm an embellishments and die cut girl these days.

I've used the Under my Umbrella stamp set and masked off the strip (as a guide to where I would add my white band later) before stamping the floral images above and below.

I'm really happy with the simplicity of this card and think it would be a good one for a beginner.  I used stampin blends in Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Just Jade and Pool Party.  I did miss the deadline to join in the challenge though, too busy with life and forgot to upload before the cut off - oh well.

Happy Thursday to everyone, Rachael xxx

Just Add Ink #528

The latest Just Add challenge was to choose two out of three elements to include in a card.

I chose to use Champagne Foil and Sequins.  And when I knew sequins were involved, I immediately gravitated to a shaker card.
I've used Blackberry Bliss cardstock and a sheet of the same coloured designer series paper from the Regals 6x6 collection.  I cut and embossed the champagne foil to created the frame for the shaker.
I've been collecting all sorts of things to add shaker cards lately.  Little sequins, glitter and mini beads.  I used a collection of these in the card, but the little heart sequins were a perfect match to the purple on my card.  The sentiment comes from the Paper Pumpkin Box of Sunshine kit and was stamped with stazon ink on the window sheeting.

This was tricky to take a photo of and much prettier in real life.

Just Add Ink #526

Another week over at Just Add Ink and a lovely challenge using this image for inspiration.  I recognised Misty Moonlight as the colour of those fabulous funghi!
I used a retired embossing folder and broke out my new stampin blends to colour the image for this card.  Its a 'congrats' on a new home theme.
I am used to colouring with a blender pen and ink or using watercolour brushes so these stampin blends will take some getting used to I think.  I added the red door for good luck too.
Another great challenge from the Just Add Ink team - always gives me inspiration.

Just add ink - #525 - Thanks

I bought some watercolour brushes on Friday and have had this card in mind since I read the challenge over at Just Add Ink.  This week's challenge is to add 'Thank you".

The card came together well.  I've noticed I've gravitated towards greens and blues lately.

I used the Beautiful Friendship stamps to add detail to the edges of my watercolour background with the Thank you sentiment is from the So Sentimental set.

Supplies included:
So sentimental stamp set
Beautiful friendship stamp set
Stitched So Sweetly die set
Wrapped In Texture embossing folder
Colours: Very Vanilla, Soft Seafoam, Mint Macaron and Pretty Peacock

Happy Sunday to all, Rachael xx

Just Add Ink #520

 Happy Sunday!

This weeks challenge was:

Naturally with Father’s Day coming up, a simple DAD card was quick to mind.

I used Kaisercraft diecut and paper for this one.

Navy and kraft is always a winner for masculine cards! I even added to the inside of the card for this challenge, the seaside theme is perfect!

Enjoy what’s left of the weekend.
