Did you see it?

Did you manage to watch my video from the 24 hours of cards?

Here is some photos of my card, using a great combination of Balmy Blue, Pear Pizzazz and Basic White.

Yes, its a shaker card!  As you've seen, I love a shaker element on a card and this tutorial shows how to create one using dies to cut out your frame.
The dimensional strips made this an easy shaker to put together, the perfect width.
And all the tiny elements inside were cut using dies from the Sweet As A Peach Suite.
Don't you just love the touch of silver  the foil cardstock and sequins adds?
Hope you can have a go at creating something similar - be sure to tag me in so I can see too.
Happy Stamping,

World Cardmaking Day

Its been a busy day here and World Cardmaking day had to fit in with a long weekend full of other celebrations but I managed.  It was lovely to have some members of our team come together to craft on Zoom (although I only got one card done because I talked too much).

I am about to go to bed here in Oz but when I wake in the morning, it will probably be my video up for the 24 hours of Card making with the Crafty Medic.  YAY!!!  I can't wait to share the project. I'll pop back tomorrow to share more and hopefully will have some 'catch up cards' to share which I can sneak in and create before anyone wakes in the morning.

Happy Stamping,

24 hours of cards!!!

Yes you read that right, I am participating in a great line up of demonstrators from around the world to present 24 cardmaking videos over the whole 24 hour period that is World Card Making Day.  Its not Australian time so will start later in the day for us.  I'm on the latter end of the line up too so mine won't be going up until Sunday our time.

I can't wait to see what all the other 23 demonstrators create.  Come along and watch the videos and spend some time creating this weekend.
Happy stamping,

What did you create today?

I'm trying hard to create every day, and so far its been working out well!

I woke up early and finished this gate fold card.  Its been sitting on my table for days, waiting for some DSP to arrive but I couldn't wait anymore.  Its World Card Making day of course, so I needed to make a card!

I had to take a little video to show the card - excuse any background noise, the dog was outside!

I used my favourite Stitched So Sweetly dies and a sentiment from the Hostess set "A merry Hello".  Doesn't the gold foil come up wonderfully in the embossing folders?

Its quiet here at the moment so I think I will take advantage of it and create another quick card with a cuppa by my side.

Cut and flip - triple cards using DSP

A big shout out THANKS to the Stampin Up Demonstrators who have been so kind and supportive this last few weeks as I learn the ropes.  Especially Tracy Bish, who has been answering questions day and night for me.

Thank you cards are always appreciated when received and a carmaker can never have too many on hand.  This triple set uses the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper.  I created 4x4 bases in Whisper White then cut three of the double sided papers measuring 3.5x3.5.  Then I chopped them into 3 and created a 'jigsaw' to put back together for a quick and simple set of coordinating cards.  I add a label die cut from Stitched So Sweetly and stamped a sentiment to layer over a Forever Fern image that I cut using the matching dies.  All up three cards took me less than 15 minutes to create.  I've already written on 2 of them to give to some people I need to remind that their support is always appreciated.
Designer Series Paper is on sale this month at Stampin Up, if you would like more information, please reach out to me.
Happy stamping everyone!  Rachael xx

A special Happy Birthday for WCMD

Happy World Card Making Day.

I bought the ZOO GLOBE STAMP SET recently in our Stampin Up sale and had a very special birthday card in mind to create with it...

Our niece turns 1 in a few weeks time, and I wanted a shaker card.  Of course I was almost finished when I realised that I had also bought the domes to use with the card however it was too late to use and to be honest, because this is being mailed, I think a flat fronted card will probably travel better.  I've filled it with a small amount of pink and white glitter, just enough to shake around but not to fill and cover the grass.  I used masking whilst I was colouring, the elephant was masked so the giraffe was standing behind him and of course, the clouds were inked using a dauber and masking.

Its definitely a set that is going to get a lot of use.
I've used inks from the Subtles collection for this and a blender pen to colour with the inks.
Have you tried masking as a technique to layer your images?  Its really not as difficult as it may seem and involves sticky notes and a little bit of cutting but is lots of fun with great results.
Happy crafting, Rachael xx

Today is World Cardmaking Day!!!

Hello!  Today there will be thousands of Facebook Lives, Blogging Posts, Instagram and more, all highlighting card making.  Happy World Cardmaking Day to those who have been playing with paper for both a short and a long time!!!

I've recently returned to the stamping world to play with ink, stamps, paper and adhesive.  Its the one creative and crafty hobby that I recall being relaxing and time efficient.  I sew, quilt, crochet and scrapbook but they all seem to take a lot of time.  The reason I chose to return and become a Stampin Up Demonstrator was that all their cardstock and inks coordinate.  Their stamps are high quality and there is so much choice.

Today I wanted to start off with a single layer card that uses just ink and cardstock.  The  HIGH TIDE stamp set allows for layered stamping.  I gave it its first inking to create a really effective card that uses minimal products.

Ink colours I used included:
So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Balmy Blue, Gray Granite, Memento Black, Soft seafoam and Pretty peacock.

I'm hoping to get a few more cards uploaded for today - I hope you can carve out some creative time too.

Todays the day!

Come back later to see what I've been crafting!
