Crafty Blog Hop

I'm so pleased to welcome you all to my part of the Crafty Challenge blog hop where we have been given a sketch as inspiration.

This is probably one of the last times I will use this fabulous stamp, die and DSP set as its retiring.  The colours are a combination that I wouldn't normally choose but seem to be so tranquil together.

I took the sketch quite literally but used some background stamping and the die cut leafy design to add layers and texture.  I had so much fun putting this one together.  Don't forget to pop over to the other blogs for the hop, the others will have loads of inspiration for you.

Crafty Challenge blog hop - sketch

I'm so glad to join along for what will be our last blog hop of the year.  Welcome to the Crafty Challenge blog hop, where we are using a sketch for inspiration.

My card uses a combination of crushed curry, soft succulent and evening evergreen as well as the stamp set xxxx from the January Mini Catalogue!

I've used a mask over my stamped image and blended soft succulent in the background then added some crushed curry to the flowers using my water painter and ink.

I also stamped the background strip with soft succulent before adding crushed curry with watercolour pencils and added in some basic gray and soft succulent stampin blends to complete the background.
Here is the sketch that we used as inspiration, maybe you will have a go too!
Don't forget to jump across to the other blogs too, leave some comments and love along the way.
Happy stamping,

Crafty Colour Challenge

This month we were challenged to use the combination of Real Red, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay.  What a lovely choice for Christmas cards!

I've chosen a simple layout with plenty of these colours to layer, including this great dot DSP from the Heartwarming Hugs collection.

I loved colouring this one in using just the 3 colours, the watercolour skirt is probably my favourite part of the image.

Thanks for popping by and checking out my take on the challenge.  Don't forget to hop along to the other blogs, this is a colour combo not to be missed!

Crafty Challenge Blog Hop

This months challenge is to use the following colours to create a project:

This time of the year here in Australia can be miserable because its our cold winter, where daylight hours are lessened and it feels like you go to work in the dark and come home in the dark too.  This challenge made me feel so much happier - I love all the brights colours and nothing is so cheerful as this kind of combination.  I used the Biggest Wishes stamp set for the background and the Birthday Chick stamps for the sentiment and fun little chicken with cupcakes.
Fussy cutting these images and putting them on dimensional dots really make them pop off the card and give a fun element.  I have to admit, colouring them wasn't easy, I was tempted to add more colour but restrained myself.
For a simple card, it really packs a punch because of the background stamping.  I think this is probably why I'm in love with the biggest wishes stamps, they are a lovely mix of bold type that can be used for more than just a sentiment.  I eyeballed the lining up of them for the background stamping.  I always feel like I've achieved something as a stamper when I can create a dramatic looking card without using Designer Series Paper or Embossing Folders!

Don't forget, this is a blog hop.  Pop over the blogs listed below for more colour inspiration.
Thanks for popping by and joining in our blog swap.
