Paper Pumpkin is almost here!!!

I have a list going for those who would like Paper Pumpkin ordered on November 3rd.  Please let me know if you would like your name ordered as I have a feeling these will sell out fast!  Instructions and all products are included in the kit.  I'm also having a creating afternoon later in November if you want to come and make your cards from the kit with friends...

No photos of creations today.  I took a day off, spent time with my family sitting outside and eating a BBQ, the weather has been beautiful lately and we finally have green grass again in the yard!

Yay for the weekend!  Rachael xx

Coffee, Cake and Cards

I've created these 2 cards for our next Coffee Cake and Cards get together, perfect to have on hand for that next birthday.  If you are local and would like to join us for some stamping fun, please let me know.  There will be 4 cards in total as well as lots of laughs and fun.
They aren't as difficult as you would think and I do all the cutting for you... just need to follow the step by step instructions along with me and create your own.  We are planning on completing these in the next week or two, on a weekend.
I can't wait to have everyone here to stamp with me and enjoy the projects to take home.

For a friend

One of my friends from work has just been accepted into a University Course.  We are all so excited for her.  I used the Peony papers to colour with my Stampin Blends (Misty Moonlight and Poppy Parade) to create a quick card to say Congrats.

Happy Stamping, only 2 sleeps until the weekend!

My next workshop

My next workshop (Coffee Cake and Cards) is happening and our theme is beautiful birthdays.  We will be creating 2 floral birthday cards using the same sentiment stamp but very different looks.  And as a bonus, we will be doubling up!  Friends coming along will end up making 2 of both the cards and will take home 4 cards in total.

I agree with this sentiment, Birthdays are the best days!  I can't wait to share these with my gals!

Snail Mail show off

I opened the letterbox to find this beauty waiting for me from Sandy, a fellow Inky Stamper member.  Thank you so much Sandy!!!  Isn't it a beautiful card?

Nothing makes your day instantly better than getting something unexpected in the mail.  I'm always looking for someone to send to so if you would like some pretty snail mail, let me know :)

A new home...

Hubby has a workmate that bought his first home and moves in this week. He asked me to make a card to go with the bottle of wine he is dropping around after settlement.

I've used cut outs from the Trimming the Town Designer Series Papers, as well as stamped and coloured the car the same colour as the one they have....  The layout is simple with a textured background.  The sentiment is an old old old sticker from back in my scrapbooking days.

Enjoy your day, Rachael xx

Sunday FB Challenge - Texture

This weeks Facebook challenge was to create with texture.

I have to admit, I love to add texture to cards and projects.  It makes them feel alive.  I used embossing folders and dies for todays card.  Layering and the use of a double Z fold card really gave this card structure (and probably bulk!)

There was lots of detail to take photos of on this card so instead of bombarding you with photos, I made a Clips video for you instead.
I'm off to pack up my craft space and spend time with family.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend,
Rachael xx

Just Thinking of you = a simple box

I've been meaning to create a simple box for a while.  They literally take no time, just a few score lines and snipping then glue them together.  This one measures 4 inches square and is 2 inches high.

Handy to have on hand when you want to give a simple gift to someone because you can!

I used champagne foil to cut the background label.  Most other elements are from the Forever Ferns line of dies and papers.  Now I need to find a place to hide it until I need it so someone doesn't think its theirs to play with!  Don't forget that the papers used in this project are currently on sale this month.  Contact me if you would like to order some and create your own box.

Fab n Funky Challenges #499

The current theme over at Fab 'n' Funky is Christmas!!!  Of course I had to participate.

I've been wanting to use an alternative colour scheme with my Christmas stamps but have been so caught up in the traditional red and green that this was like a breathe of fresh air.  It came together quickly (if only I didn't have to wait for the glitter to dry, it could have been done sooner!)

I've used A Merry Hello and stamped with Gray Granite then used Mint Macaron, Pool Party and Blushing Bride. Such a pretty combination!  The Heartwarming Hugs stamps and dies came in handy to add my sentiment.

Todays plan here is to do some crafting and some baking - the cookie container is empty! I hope you have a happy Sunday and manage some time at the craft table or in the kitchen too.

Mojo Monday Challenge #548

Hi, another day, another card.   To see the challenge, pop over HERE.

Here is my take on the sketch, using the forever fern papers, stamps and dies.  I interpreted the sketch pretty much as it is.

I used my stampin blends to colour some basic rhinestones to match the Designer Series Papers.  It makes them pop against the white a lot more.

The Stitched So Sweetly dies are my go to, and layering them gives them a little extra something.

I'm thankful for the rain we have had here the last few days.  Australia is very dry at the moment so anything wet coming from the sky is welcomed.  More rain this weekend will mean more time at my desk to create!

Just Add Ink #528

The latest Just Add challenge was to choose two out of three elements to include in a card.

I chose to use Champagne Foil and Sequins.  And when I knew sequins were involved, I immediately gravitated to a shaker card.
I've used Blackberry Bliss cardstock and a sheet of the same coloured designer series paper from the Regals 6x6 collection.  I cut and embossed the champagne foil to created the frame for the shaker.
I've been collecting all sorts of things to add shaker cards lately.  Little sequins, glitter and mini beads.  I used a collection of these in the card, but the little heart sequins were a perfect match to the purple on my card.  The sentiment comes from the Paper Pumpkin Box of Sunshine kit and was stamped with stazon ink on the window sheeting.

This was tricky to take a photo of and much prettier in real life.

Frugal Tip!

This is an oldie but a goodie.  Especially if you are running low on your favourite cardstock or Designer Series Paper.

Use more than one die that nests inside each other to create several labels or diecuts out of one piece of cardstock.  Here I used 3 of the Stitched So Sweetly dies, that all nest well inside each other and created 3 separate die cuts.  The two rectangles will be used as mats for Designer Series papers in cards and the label will be stamped with a sentiment.  Its 3 for the price of 1!!!

Cover the empty spaces on the larger die cuts to cover up what's missing
Many Stampin Up Die Cut sets of labels nest inside each other

I hope this little handy tip helps someone else out in a pinch, who like me, forgot to order more coordinating cardstock in my last order!!!

Happy crafting frugal friends, Rachael xxx

Freshly made sketches #458

This weeks sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches team:

My interpretation, using the Trimming the Town and Heartwarming Hugs DSP.  A quick and easy card this morning, made with lots of dimensional dots.

I used the background snow flurry stamp for the detail on the pool party matting and the whisper white matting was embossed using the Textures folders.

These Designer Series Papers are really making my heart happy when creating Christmas cards, and I have so much still left over!

Facebook Challenge- sketch

This weeks challenge was a simple sketch and I knew exactly what I wanted to do as soon as I saw it!

I used the trimming the town suite to create this card as well as the pinewood planks background embossing folder.

I've kept to a 'sampler' feel for the card with each of the circles highlighting a part of the suite.  I have added some of the rhinestones to give a cohesive feel to each circle.  The warm hugs stamp set and matching dies came in handy also - it coordinates well with the trimming the town suite.

Don't forget that this month there is a special on DSP, and trimming the town papers are included.  There is so much fun and variety in the set that I'm struggling to cut it up - its so pretty to look at as it is.

How many Christmas cards have you got to create?  I'm well on my way but have a long list.

Happy stamping, Rachael xx

One for the boys - Let's Get Hopping Round 36

Welcome to the Let's Get Hopping blog hop, its round 36 and my first time joining. You have probably come to me from Tracy's blog - if not, please pop back over there to say hi also.

This months theme was 'One for the boys'.  I knew I wanted to use the "High Tide" Stamp set for this one and create a sunburst theme.  Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron make a fun and striking colour combination for this.

I've popped the circular sentiment onto dimensional dots to lift it up from the page.  The 'ribbons' underneath were inked slightly so they had more depth.

This probably isn't my typical type of card but as a mum of two teenagers, I think this would be the kind of card they couldn't mind getting.

Thanks for visiting my little part of the blog hop, please leave a comment, I would love to hear from you. I know 'boys' cards aren't always easy to create, I hope this has inspired you to go bold with your colour and design choice.  Click on the arrow to go to Nina's blog next.

Team Challenge card # 4

Hello!  My final card was probably the easiest and fasted one to create because I've loved the last few shaker cards I've made.

I thought of using this stamp and sentiment as soon as I saw all these products together.  I paper pieced the umbrella and then stamped the raindrops over the top once it was adhered down.  The shaker elements were small sequins and glitter I had in my stash.

Although it doesn't look like I used much of the product that was in my parcel, I did in fact use a fair bit, but all my layers did hide a bit of it.   I used an embossing folder on the background pink cardstock and then created the shaker card with some of the dsp.  The big bling was the finishing touch 👌

Wrapped in texture Embossing Folder

If you haven't had a go at a shaker card, they aren't as difficult as they may look.  Give it a go!

Team Challenge card #3

The third and fourth card I created for the team challenge was a lot softer.

The background designer series paper was easy to use with lots of soft colours that spoke to me.

I used vellum cut out with dies from the Forever Fern and Stitched So Sweetly to layer behind the sentiment block.  I was taken with the green ribbon, which I thought was very feminine.

I'll be back later to show the last card which was my favourite of the entire challenge, a shaker card!

Happy creating, Rachael xx

Team Challenge Card #2

The second card I created for our team challenge was one that has an acetate clear panel on the front to show the ribbon through to the front.

I wasn't sure about the doily but I've adhered it now so that's where it stays.

These challenges were lots of fun.  I used the background stamp from Forever Fern set and a sentiment from the Many Mates set. I also used a sun stamp from the current Paper Pumpkin kit with versa mark to make my semi circles less 'plain'.
